“Let us live in a way that Earth will be grateful for us.”
- Robin Wall Kimmerer
We are facing global climate collapse and social upheaval. The desire to show up meaningfully to a suffering Earth co-arises with the fear, panic and overwhelm of a rapidly changing planet. Of a world shifting beneath our feet. Anxiety, grief, pain, anger and loneliness are very normal responses. So is a sense of urgency and a firey heart.
I provide tailored psychological and spiritual support as an eco-doula (or chaplain) to reconnect us to the healing capacity of nature. To reweave us into reciprocity for the Earth in turn.
I work in a practice I am terming Ecological Wisdom Direction, an emerging field that brings together environmentalism and the spiritual values of reverence for nature, interconnectedness, reciprocity, and service.
I facilitate practice 1:1 sessions, circles, groups and retreats to renew our relationship to the living world, and to gently navigate and support all that comes with these fractured times.
What is an Eco-Doula?
An Eco-Doula is a bow to the midwife who helps usher forward life. Even in the midst of global warming, extreme weather, climate refugees, loss of biodiversity and wild spaces, pillaging of Indigenous sacred lands, loss of natural resources and more, new life is still possible. Perhaps in the midst of this decay, something new is growing. My desire is to be a small piece in that arrival.
This philisophy is based on the Buddhist principles of; Ahimsa(do no harm), Karuna (compassion), Metta (lovingkindness) and Paṭicca-samuppāda (interconnection).
